The Library and Information Centre of Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women celebrated World Book Day on 23 April 2026. The programme was organized to create awareness among students about the importance of books and to encourage reading habits. About Session World Book Day is celebrated globally every year on 23rd April to promote the love of books and reading. It was established by UNESCO in 1995. The theme for World Book Day 2026 was "Reading for Pleasure." The Principal and Vice Principal graced the occasion with their presence. Students and faculty members actively participated in the celebrations. On this occasion, the library displayed books from different subjects and encouraged students to read regularly. The significance of World Book Day was explained to the students and staff, highlighting how books help in gaining knowledge, improving creativity, developing personality, and enhancing vocabulary and language skills. Reading also improves imagination, concentration, and memory, reduces stress, and teaches moral values and life lessons. Students and faculty were advised to visit the library regularly and make reading a part of their daily lives. The celebration inspired everyone to appreciate books as valuable sources of wisdom and lifelong learning. The famous quote by Margaret Fuller, "Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader," was shared with the audience, motivating them to cultivate the habit of reading. The programme concluded with the message, "Knowledge is the light that removes darkness," reminding everyone that reading books enlightens minds and leads to success.
