The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading professional society devoted to the advancement of electronics, telecommunications, and information technology.

Founded in 1953, it serves a large network of student and professional engineers through education, research publications, and skill development programs.

It thrives as a massive global network serving over 125,000 members across more than 60 regional centres. To boost industry readiness and prepare the next generation, it maintains a strong student focus by managing dedicated IETE Students' Forums (ISF) across 550+ engineering colleges. Concurrently, IETE acts as a vital research hub by hosting national technical symposia and publishing premier, peer-reviewed academic journals.

Objective

  • Promote the study and application of electronics and IT through technical conferences, symposia, and research journals.
  • Serve as an examining body to award recognized graduate, diploma, and postgraduate engineering certifications (AMIETE, DIPIETE, and ALCCS).
  • Provide platforms like the IETE Students' Forum (ISF) to upgrade technical skills and improve corporate employability for students.
  • Conduct and support industrial research as a recognized Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).
